Hilti WS10 Hydraulic Wire Saw (Product Code 12118)
Diamond wire sawing is a flexible method of cutting masonry, concrete, granite and other substrates, including steel.
A wire-sawing rig is set up adjacent to the area to be cut.
A steel wire, with diamond beads attached along its length, is then threaded around the structure to be cut and the rig.
The two ends of the wire are then joined together so that a continuous loop of wire is formed.
The wire is pulled tight using the wire-sawing rig and then the wire is rotated around the rig and the structure to make the cut. As the cut is formed the tension on the wire is maintained, essentially pulling the wire through the cut.
This method allows large structure to be cut where other methods are impractical.
It is an ideal tool for cutting and removing reinforced concrete, such as bridge sections, jetties, columns or beams.
Diamond wire sawing is particularly useful when extremely thick and/or awkward shapes need cutting.
Our Hilti Wire sawing rig is available with either a 3 Phase or Petrol powered hydraulic power pack.
